JBL and Nokia introduce the PowerUp Wireless Charging Speaker, promo videos inside

Okay, the Nokia Wireless Charging accessories are seriously cool, but what if you want more than just charge your phone? Nokia thought of this as well and has teamed up with JBL to introduce the PowerUp Wireless Charging Speaker.

There?s also the PlayUp Wireless Speaker, but it doesn?t offer charging. Both accessories however, come with NFC and Bluetooth connectivity. Here are the promo videos, which do a pretty good job of summing up the key features of the new speakers.

Asus Taichi ? Dual Screen Tablet

The ASUS TAICHI is a slim and stylish ultraportable with an astonishing key feature ? both 11.6? and 13.3? models have a brilliant double-sided LED-backlit IPS/FHD display. With a touch screen on the outside of the lid, the TAICHI opens up a whole host of new mobile possibilities as it plays the role of both ultrabook and tablet.

With the lid open, the TAICHI is just like any ultrabook computer, and comes complete with a full-size QWERTY backlit keyboard and track pad. With the lid closed, however, the TAICHI instantly becomes a multi-touch tablet computer with stylus support, bringing a degree of flexibility that has never before been experienced on an ordinary ultrabook. Better still, while they provide access to the same hardware, the two screens are completely independent of each other and can also be used simultaneously, which means the Taichi can be shared with two users for a host of innovative new applications (I don?t really know why ?).

The TAICHI is as light and thin as the ASUS ZENBOOK and delivers uncompromised mobile performance, with 3rd generation Intel Core processors, fast SSD storage and dual band 802.11n Wi-Fi.

Samsung announces a trio Windows 8 tablets ? meet the ATIV Tab, ATIV Smart PC and ATIV Smart PC Pro

Alongside the Windows Phone 8-running ATIV S smartphone, Samsung also announced three Windows 8-powered slates ? the 10.1? ATIV Tab and the 11.6? ATIV Smart PC and ATIV Smart PC Pro.

The latter duo will be coming with detachable keyboards with touchpads, just like the ASUS Transformer tablet, and S Pen-support.

Samsung ATIV Tab

We start with the Samsung ATIV Tab. It?s powered by the same 1.5GHz dual-core processor as the ATIV S, but comes with 2GB of RAM. The LCD display measures 10.1? and has a resolution of 1366 x 769 pixels. The ATIV Tab has a very slim 8.9mm profile and weighs 570 grams, which is pretty decent for a tablet of its size. At the back, there?s a 5MP shooter, while a 1.9MP front-facing camera sits above the display.

The Samsung ATIV Tab will come with either 32GB or 64GB of storage and will offer microSD card slot with support for up to 64GB cards. Connectivity options include NFC, microHDMI, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. With a 8,200mAh battery at the back, this slate is sure to last quite long.

Samsung ATIV Smart PC & Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro

The Samsung ATIV Smart PC and Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro are hybrid 11.6-inch tablets, which come with a detachable keyboard docks with handy touchpads. Both of them run a full version of the upcoming Windows 8 OS, but are also backward compatible with Windows 7.

In addition, both slates come with the Samsung S Pen, which will make most of the screen?s support of 1024-levels of pressure. The ATIV Smart PC Pro sports a full HD resolution screen, while the ATIV Smart PC makes do with a display of just 1366 x 768 pixels. Both have 10-finger multi-touch support and boast 400-nits of brightness.

The ATIV Smart PC Pro weighs 884 grams without the keyboard dock and 1.6kg with it, while the ATIV Smart PC is lighter at 750 grams without a dock and 1.48kg with it. The difference in the weight is due to the Pro?s Intel Core i5, 4GB of RAM and up to 256GB SSD drive inside it.

Designed for the less demanding users, the ATIV Smart PC is powered by an undisclosed next generation Intel Atom processor, 2GB of RAM and offers a 128GB SSD. Both slates come sans optical drives.

The battery life of the slates is rated 13.5 hours for the Smart PC and just 8 hours for the Smart PC Pro. Unfortunately, the keyboard docks don?t pack additional juice. Both slates feature 3G and LTE connectivity, as well as Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 as well as microSD card slots. The ATIV Smart PC Pro also offers a USB 3.0 port.

Both keyboard docks feature 2 x USB 2.0 ports and one mini-HDMI port for connecting to an external high-resolution display. Availability and pricing isn?t available at this stage.

TDK Wireless Charging Speaker

Plenty of wireless speakers can charge up your device ? by using a dock or a cord. The TDK Wireless Charging Speaker ($400) takes a different approach by building a Qi-compatible inductive charging pad into the top. Other features include Bluetooth 2.1 wireless audio streaming, a built-in rechargeable battery, four full-range left/right speakers, a ported subwoofer, a 3.5mm input for non-wireless connections, an IPX3-compliant weatherized design, and a USB charging port for those times when you just feel like plugging something in.

Samsung Galaxy Camera

The Samsung Galaxy Camera can be said to be the best Android-powered dedicated camera at this point in time, as its only competitor would be the Nikon Coolpix S800c, but that certainly loses out to the Samsung Galaxy Camera in many aspects. For instance, the Samsung Galaxy Camera has the latest Android operating system version as opposed to Android 2.3 Gingerbread on the S800c, while it has a 21x optical touch zoom lens (vs 10x optical zoom on the Nikon) and a 16-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor. You can choose from three options ? a 3G and Wi-Fi version, a 4G LTE and Wi-Fi version or a Wi-Fi-only model.

Lenovo IdeaCentre A520

This week the folks at Lenovo have revealed an all-in-one computer by the name of IdeaCentre A520 ? a smaller version of the A720 we reviewed quite recently ? with Windows 8 and 10-point multi-touch greatness. This machine is still able to adjust its display from -5 to 90 degrees flat, works with Ivy Bridge ? 3rd Gen Intel Core processors of all kinds (i3 up to i7) and comes with Windows 8 (64 bit) right out of the box. You?ll be working with unique touch-optimized applications and user interface updates with your basic build and will have the same great casing aesthetics as the A720 too.

First you?ve got the monitor which measured in at 561?345.9?21.5 mm (22.08?13.61?0.84 inches). Then you?ve got the base which is 337x32x210.8 mm (13.26?1.25 x8.29 inches). The whole thing is still going to be relatively heavy at 9.8 kg (21.60lb), but the size is what matters here the most ? instead of the massive A720?s beastly proportions you?ve got, again, a human sized monster on your hands.

The Lenovo IdeaCentre A520 will be popping up in October 2012 starting at $999 USD ? also a very human-sized price. Have a peek at the rest of our Lenovo coverage of IFA 2012 and stick around for future reviews as well!
