Warner Bros. is searching for a director to shoot a movie about the team of DC Comics superheroes The?Justice League -- which includes?Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman -- following the success of Marvel's The?Avengers.
According to?Variety, Ben Affleck seems to be Warner's preferred choice to direct the movie. He is said to be the only candidate who was sent the script penned by Will Beale.
But nothing is set in stone: Deadline adds that spokespeople for Affleck have said he is not interested in the project. Last June, David Yates (Harry Potter) was also mentioned, but he's now out of the picture. Christopher Nolan's impressive work on the Batman trilogy and his upcoming Superman?flick (The Man of Steel) would make him a nice fit, but Deadline suggests the director may want to focus on films devoid of musclemen in leotards.
Warner Bros. still has plenty of time to find the right director, since Justice League will likely not be out before 2015. In the meantime, Superman will be back on the silver screen (Man of Steel) and Batman will get a 2014 reboot in a more colorful Gotham City than Nolan's version, a move that seems like a good set-up for the Justice League?movie.
