Two teams on upset paths in the NCAA Tournament will meet Friday in Denver ? and one team in the neck-and-neck matchup will finally tilt to Elite Eight.
The Metro State and Colorado Mines women's soccer teams play at 11 a.m. on the Auraria campus in the Division II South Central Region championship. The Roadrunners and Orediggers have already faced each other four times this season, and they each won two.
The University of Denver women also are looking to move on in the D-I NCAA Tournament. The Pioneers face No. 9-ranked Maryland in the second round Friday at 5:30 p.m. at Stanford, Calif.
In the men's D-I tournament, Air Force played a late game Thursday at Washington in the first round. And Regis went against Incarnate Word in the D-II third round.
