People call me all of the time asking me if there is a rating service for lawyers.? The answer is no because it?s subjective and not reliable.? I started www.findgreatlawyers.com as a way for the public to know that a lawyer was recommending another attorney.
Of course there are tons of ?rating? services for lawyers out there.? And many attorneys brag about being selected as a top lawyer.? Clients eat that stuff up.? The truth is that in most of these rating services are junk and are filled with both great and not so great lawyers.? One website lists ?rising stars? and I?ve seen some lawyers selected for this four years in a row.? Others list almost every lawyer at various firms, as if getting a job at that firm automatically makes you great.
Consider the following e-mail that a lawyer I know received.? He sent it around to a bunch of attorneys to brag how great he was considering he received this incredible honor.
